Era Design stands behind the quality and craftsmanship of our pieces. We offer a 12 month warranty against manufacturing defects on all Era Design handcrafted jewellery.
Manufacturing Defects
Most manufacturing defects will show up quickly, usually within the first month of wear, as the structure of the jewellery is compromised. If a warranty issue is found, ex. loose stones, small diamonds falling out within the first 30 days, defects in the gold due to pits and porosity, repairs will be covered under our manufactures warranty.
Exclusions
All fine jewellery can be affected by normal wear, activities, or trauma. This is especially true for rings, as our hands are subject to daily pressure. Our manufacturing warranty excludes coverage for wear and tear, loss of gemstones due to wear and tear, product loss, or theft. Coverage also excludes damage or loss caused by a failure to obtain the repairs to preserve the integrity of the piece. We advise a yearly checkup to re-polish, check the stones, and do an all over inspection. This service is covered free of charge.
Examples of jewellery issues that would not be considered manufacturing defects and an estimate for repair would apply:
- Re-tipping of prongs, which wear down over time and may require restoration work as part of everyday wear.
- Gemstones falling out due to prongs catching, wearing out, or bending over time due to everyday wear or trauma.
- The loss of a gemstone caused by damage from everyday wear or from other trauma.
- The wearing down of engraving and millgrain over time.
This warranty does not apply to our collection of vintage jewellery as these pieces were not manufactured by Era Design. Repair or service performed by a jeweller other than Era Design will void the above warranty.
Diamonds and Gemstones
In the case of finished stock, custom designed, and vintage jewellery, please note that the centre diamonds or gemstones of any jewellery item are not covered under warranty. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to care and maintain their diamonds and gemstones over time. Despite the fact that diamonds are among the hardest substances on earth, these natural minerals can still be damaged when struck with enough force at certain angles. All other gemstones are excluded from warranties as most are softer than diamonds and naturally susceptible to scratches, chips, cracks, etc. from daily wear and tear or accidents.
Chains, Pendants, and Earrings
All chains, pendants, and earrings are covered under our 12 month manufacturers warranty. Our manufacturing warranty excludes coverage for wear and tear, loss of gemstones due to wear and tear, product loss, or theft. Free Cleaning and Polishing
Every Era Design stamped jewellery item is automatically eligible for free cleaning and re-polishing. Just bring it in, no need for proof of purchase!
Two Free Re-sizings
Every Era Design ring comes with two free re-sizings up or down within one full size. For re-sizings larger than one size, fees may apply - no need for proof of purchase!
The resizing of vintage rings is not covered under warranty and carries an additional sizing fee.
Returns
In Stock Jewellery
All finished Era Design stock jewellery bought from in-store showcases or online can be returned within 30 days of original date of purchase. We do not accept returns or exchanges on items that have been resized or modified. Items must be in unworn condition and be returned with their certifications (if applicable). Pieces exhibiting signs of wear are subject to a 15% refurbishing fee.
*Holiday Return Policy: any purchases made between November 1st and December 15th can be returned until January 15th.
Late returns are subject to minimum 10% restocking fee.
Custom Design Jewellery
Due to the unique and often personal nature of custom design, Era Design does not accept returns on custom jewellery. This includes stock styles remade to a specific client's specifications.
Made to Order Jewellery
Made to order jewellery is considered custom, therefore the same policy applies. Era Design does not accept returns on custom jewellery.
Vintage and Sale
Vintage jewellery items are not eligible for return due to the "as is" and unique nature of the pieces. All items sold at a discounted price are final sale.
